Springtime Sunhat

     I have to say that the "HOPE" of warmer weather was definitely the inspiration for my new hat design.  I wanted to create something that literally SCREAMS "Spring" and would be perfect for warmer sunny days.  I used white as my base color, because, well, I love it!  Then I added some really bright colors to bring out the white.  I just love these colors together.  I noticed from your facebook posts for this month's giveaway that many of you do, too!  (For more information on the giveaway go here) 

 All of my hats, until now, have only one flower. So, I thought it would be fun and different to add a little bunch of smaller flowers.  I used a mesh stitch to promote a little more breathe ability for Spring and Summer months.  And, of course, it's 100% cotton, like all of my hats, so it breathes well anyway. The added sunhat brim will keep the sun off those sweet smiling faces.

 I hope you like it.  I'd love to get your feedback on this one.

 

Photo Props?

     So, I have this great friend in Idaho that does photography (check out her work at http://www.highdesignphotography.blogspot.com/). Well, she asked me if I'd be willing to crochet some photo props for her. Some cute little newborn things, hats and diaper covers. I knew I could do the hats, no problem, but I was nervous about the diaper covers. Of course, I could have purchased a pattern and made someone else's design. But what's the fun in that? So after several hours of frustration, crocheting, and then pulling out stitches, crocheting again, and then pulling it all out again (times about 20). I came up with my own. My favorite part? The button.
